“Best 18650 Explanation”

Buying the right battery is easier than you think

There are only two main specs you should know.
The specs on batteries are:

  • The Milliamp hours it is rated for = How long the battery lasts before it needs changing.
  • The amperage it is rated for. = How much current the battery can handle.

This will help you understand why we have different battery ratings and why you would select one over another.
There is a misconception of how high amperage cells will hit harder.
This is simply not true. The amperage rating is to allow for more potential rather than add any power.

Higher drain batteries in this sense are the same as having higher rated amp fuses.
These ratings are here to support more power, not to produce more power.

Therefore, if you’re not looking to vape at higher settings, using higher drain batteries for moderate wattage settings be any safer.
If your personal settings are well within the parameters of the gear you choose. You are safe, no more, no less.

You now have two choices when selecting your batteries:

  • Buy batteries based on the maximum range of your device. (just in case you will floor it sometimes)
  • Buy batteries based on your own personal settings. (I am disciplined and will never need that much power)

Note: Buying batteries with amperage ratings too high for your setup is a waste of vape time.
Using an ohm’s law calculator, you can figure out the exact amps you need for your application.
Then purchase the battery that is closest to your answer without going over.  Try our charts Below.
